México en la Sangre

Where Tradition Lives and Celebrates

México en la Sangre is more than an event — it’s a celebration of heritage, tradition, and community.
Founded in 2021 with the vision of honoring the deep-rooted art of charrería, our mission is to bring the beauty, skill, and spirit of Mexican culture to audiences of all backgrounds. Held four times a year, each production offers a new opportunity to experience the magic and pride of our traditions.

From the crack of the reata in the arena to the graceful steps of a dancing horse, every performance is a living story passed down through generations. Our rodeo blends centuries-old traditions with the excitement of a modern show — featuring competitions for equestrian athletes in charrería, including escaramuza and  caballos bailadores educados en la alta escuela performances. We also keep the arena alive with live music, including crowd-favorite banda performances.

Beyond the arena, our festival brings the community together with folklórico dance, cultural exhibitions, and shopping from local vendors. It’s a place where families gather, friends reconnect, and guests experience the rich beauty of Mexican heritage in a welcoming, high-energy environment.

We are proud to be a woman-owned, family-driven organization, committed to preserving traditions while sharing them with the world. Whether you’re cheering in the stands, dancing to the music, or meeting the performers, you’re part of the México en la Sangre family.

Our Team

Cassy Lopez

Founder & Executive Producer

Cassy Lopez began producing México en la Sangre, a rodeo and cultural showcase, in September 2021 at the Historic Fort Worth Stockyards. When asked how it all started, she always responds:

“God — it was a blessing from God.”

Cassy is a proud Tarleton State University alumna and a Fort Worth native with a lifelong passion for horses, heritage, and helping others. She has spent years volunteering with children and animals, always aiming to be a strong role model in her community.

Her heart for culture, community, and celebration led her to create México en la Sangre — a space where families gather, traditions thrive, and joy is shared.

“I do what I do because I love to see people smile. Bringing joy to people’s lives through sharing our culture is an absolute blessing.”

Isabel Valdez

Director
Originally from Nochistlán, Zacatecas, México, Isabel Valdez comes from a proud familia charra and plays a central role as Director of México en la Sangre. With her commanding voice and attention to detail, Isabel brings each show to life — calling the action during the rodeo and ensuring everything flows smoothly behind the scenes.

Her husband, Alejandro, a skilled veterinarian and charro, is equally dedicated and helps carry out the vision of each event. Together, this dynamic duo is a vital part of what makes México en la Sangre so special.

“I love the adrenaline — watching all of our hard work come together and sharing the cherished traditions of my ancestors. Charrería is my life, and bringing this art to the public is my greatest joy.”

Bryan Garza

Arena Manager
Originally from Burleson, Texas, Bryan Garza plays a key role as our Arena Manager. He ensures our staff is on cue and ready to enter the arena — all while keeping safety a top priority. With his calm presence and quick, agile steps, Bryan brings both order and heart to every show.

“My job is to make sure everything runs safely and on time. When the arena is flowing and the crowd is cheering, I know we’ve done it right.”

Bianca Lopez

Festival Manager
Originally from Fort Worth, Texas, Bianca Lopez plays a vital role as our Festival Manager. A proud mom of two and proud sister of Cassy Lopez, she oversees every detail of the festival — securing sponsors, coordinating vendors, booking entertainment, and ensuring the entire event runs smoothly.

A natural people person, Bianca keeps the crowd energized with music, dancing, and spontaneous ticket giveaways, all while maintaining safety and flow. Her determination, thoughtfulness, and love for her team shine through in everything she does.

“Seeing the crowd smiling, dancing, and enjoying the festival makes every long day worth it. Bringing people together is what I love most.”

Carlos Gomez

Singer & Artist
Hailing from Zacatecas, Carlos Gomez is a true triple threat — a talented singer, skilled charro, and all-around team player. His specialties in the lienzo include piales, coleadero, and jineteo de yegua, but it’s his powerful voice that takes center stage. Carlos performs with both mariachi groups and bandas, bringing heart and soul to every performance.

While now focused primarily on his singing career, he never hesitates to jump in and help wherever needed.

“Whether I’m in the saddle or on stage, my goal is the same — to give my heart to the audience and celebrate our culture through music.”

Cesar Rodriguez

Lead Charro & Trick Roper
From Trancoso, Zacatecas, Cesar Rodriguez is a true master of the lienzo. Specializing in manganas, piales, and terna, he commands the arena with rope trick performances that blend precision, skill, and showmanship.

A proud father, veterinarian, and skilled welder, Cesar brings a unique blend of dedication, heart, and versatility to our team. His attentiveness and willingness to step in wherever needed help keep the rodeo running smoothly and safely. We’re honored to have his talent, experience, and commitment as part of México en la Sangre.

Anastasia Flores Dance Company

Folklorico & Contemporary Dance
Based in Arlington, Texas, this passionate dance company brings unmatched energy and artistry to every show. Led by Anastasia Flores, a proud TCU alumna, the group was founded in 2021 and has grown into one of the region’s most respected folklórico and contemporary ensembles. They perform locally and internationally, showcasing traditional dances from across Mexico’s many regions.

Anastasia’s creativity, heart, and commitment to preserving culture shine through in every performance — especially during her favorite holiday, Día de los Muertos, where her vibrant stage direction leaves the crowd in awe.

“Dance is storytelling — every step is a way to honor our heritage and share the beauty of Mexico’s traditions with the world.”

Fernando Chavez

Equestrian Performer
From Jalisco, Mexico, Fernando Chavez is the heart of another dynamic family within our team. Joined by his daughter and son in the arena, he showcases a stunning string of dancing horses, including Friesians, Andalusians, and Spaniards.

A devoted family man, Fernando is patient, humble, and giving — qualities that make him not only an asset to our events but also a joy to work alongside. His friendship and support for founder Cassy Lopez run deep, and his family’s presence at México en la Sangre always brings elegance, tradition, and unforgettable beauty to the show.

Rafael Perez

Equestrian Performer & Horse Trainer
Owner of Rancho Perez, Rafael Perez brings some of the most breathtaking dancing horses to our arena — including our crowd favorite, Ferrari, who dazzles audiences with the Alta Escuela Cabriola.

With patience and skill, Rafa has trained alongside the world-famous Medieval Times show, honing his craft and ensuring every horse he brings is a star. He also provides the elegant horse-drawn carriage featured in our performances, often carrying a singer in a truly unforgettable display.

A pleasure to work with, Rafa is supported by his wife, who is always backstage lending a hand and ensuring founder Cassy Lopez has everything she needs. Together, they add grace, artistry, and heart to México en la Sangre.
